You can understand the funk and disco genres that can be used in any genre, learn the characteristic sound choices of those genres, major instruments, and groove rhythms, and apply them to your actual tracks.
Distinctive guitar and drum bass groovy rhythm
You can learn both the senses and the skills to create a unique guitar sound and groovy rhythm that is the most important characteristic of those genres and also learn how to use and mix elements from other genres into your funky/disco song.
Tracking process of production by section
From the intro to the outro, the instructor’s skills are passed on for all sections that make up the song.
Also, you can learn the difference between bridge arrangements for US Pop and K-POP, how to add “ear candy” to your production in a musical and tasteful way.
Mixing to improve perfection
You can learn approach to mixing bass and drums to create an impactful production, how to use EQ to create the right space for all the production elements, basic concepts of saturation, parallel compression, reverb and delay, etc.

Lecture Basics of Drum & Bass Programming and Guitar Tone In this lesson, students will learn how to start an idea and develop it through the bootcamp. The concepts that students will learn in this lesson are: The basics of drum programming and choosing the right drum sounds How to dial-in the guitar tone and create the right bassline for a funk/disco song
Mission Getting started – organize ideas and choose the right drums, bass, and other foundational sounds for your idea
Lecture Students will start developing the arrangement of the verse and pre-chorus of the song. The instructor will give in-depth explanations on how to add dynamics to the song and add a unique color to the production. The concepts that students will learn in this lesson are: How to program your drums to make them sound real and dynamic How to create rhythmic variations in the song How to use chord progressions to create distinct moods in each section The difference between arranging for US pop and K-POP
Mission Make your own Verse and Pre-chorus
Lecture Students will continue developing the arrangement of the song and focus on the chorus production. The instructor will go more in-depth on the techniques they use to accomplish a polished production. The concepts that students will learn in this lesson are: How to effectively program hi-hats to add groove to your production How to layer funky guitars Synth programming and layering Using sound FX to add excitement to the chorus
Mission Make your own Chorus
Lecture Students will flesh out the rest of the song in developing the 2nd verse, 2nd pre-chorus, and the bridge sections of the song. They will learn how to keep the arrangement moving and establish dynamics to keep the song interesting, as they are crucial aspects of a K-POP dance song. The concepts that the students will learn in this lesson are: How to integrate elements from other genres into their funk/disco song The difference between bridge arrangements for US pop and K-POP How to add “ear candy” to your production in a musical and tasteful way
Mission Make the 2nd Verse, 2nd Pre-chorus, and the Bridge
Lecture Students will learn how to put the finishing touches on the arrangement and production of the song, as well as how to properly mix their demo. Mission Put the finishing touches and mix your track
Lecture Students who have both made it into the top 10% of attendance and showed diligent performance in their weekly assignments will have the opportunity to receive direct feedback on their song. Don’t worry if you’re not in the top 10%! The instructor will provide valuable information regarding producing through their courses and general mentoring. After the Live lecture, there will be a Q&A session with the instructor.
